Every week between 1st and 2nd services in the Café, we provide coffee, tea, and snacks. CCF is committed to building community with one another and this is one way we can encourage that! Please feel free to enjoy the refreshments, relax at one of the tables and get to know someone else. We are providing the place and the goodies, all you need to provide is the time and yourself!
Our Jr. High students have their own program during both CCF services which focuses on ministering to their specific needs. They are dismissed after the music/mingle time portion of the main service. They join us in the sanctuary first because it is important that they feel part of the corporate body and get a chance to worship together. High School students have their own program 1st service and are in the sanctuary for 2nd service. Traditionally there is a huge drop-off from church when students graduate. Having the high school students in the sanctuary for 2nd service encourages a connection to the corporate body and allows for a natural promotion into the main church when they graduate from high school.
Prayer Cards We believe in the power of prayer at CCF! We have prayer cards in the seat backs for you to communicate any needs that you or your family may have. Please place your card in the offering bowl or hand them to an usher. These requests are given to the CCF Staff, Servants Council, and Prayer Team for prayer. You may also call or email the CCF Office with your requests. In addition, our Welcome Cards are in the seat backs if you need to update your personal information or sign up for any upcoming events.
Pastor Mark Labberton in his book, 'The Dangerous Act of Worship: Living God's Call to Justice', states that worship is the dangerous act of waking up to God and God's purposes in the world. He goes on to say, "But something has gone wrong with our worship. Too often, worship has become a place of safety and complacency. It can be a narrowly private experience in which solitary individuals express their personal adoration. Even when we gather corporately, we often close our eyes to those around us, focusing on God but ignoring our neighbor. But true Biblical worship does not merely point us upward it should turn us outward as well." Community is one of our core values at CCF and 'Mingle Time' is one of those opportunities to express this value by not ignoring our neighbor as we gather together to celebrate all of who God is. For some, it may be the only time during the week where they have been greeted, encouraged, and included. For us introverts it's not easy but as an introvert I can speak with confidence that it is good to belong and to be noticed.
